About Nedley Turns Wood
Started in the midst of a pandemic by a single father, Nedley Turns Wood LLC strives to create timeless one of a kind pieces that honor the natural beauty of the trees that they come from. In the process of doing so, Nedley Turns Wood LLC donates %3 of all proceeds to the National Forest Foundation, so that it can continue it’s sustainability.
Ned Price Ianacone, A single father from southern New Jersey, found his love for woodworking during the pandemic. Beginning with small turned bowls, he slowly has made his way all the way up to tables and countertops. The most alarming thing that Ned noticed, was how few woodworkers or lumber companies were donating to non-for-profits to help keep woodworking sustainable. He decided that if he wanted to see a change, he had to do it. Nedley Turns Wood proudly supports the Rainforest Alliances and The National Forest Foundation by donating 3 percent of every sale to the cause of keeping wood working a sustainable business.
Our Impact
Since it's inception in 2020, Nedley Turns Wood LLC has successfully planted 2600 trees. This allows woodworking to continue to be an avenue for many others as we strive to keep it responsible and sustainable.
Nedley Turns Wood LLC is responsible for donating 2600 trees to the National Forest Foundation. It’s plan in 2022 is to also include the Rainforest Alliance to that roster.
How much does it cost to plant a tree and what does my money actually support?
The NFF plants one tree for every dollar donated. Your donations help provide seedlings that are then planted by the USDA Forest Service. For every dollar donated, the Forest Service invests $2 in these important projects by sourcing seeds, identifying the areas in most need of tree planting, contracting the labor, and providing follow-up care to ensure the seedlings survive.
